I’m Miriam.

I make digital collages that start with ordinary photographs and slowly become something a little stranger. Most of the images I use come from old archives or forgotten corners of the internet, and I like imagining what might be happening just outside the edges of the original photo.

Sometimes that means adding something surreal. Sometimes it just means shifting the scene slightly so it feels like a small story might be unfolding.

I’ve always loved the idea that an image can hold more than what it first shows. A person sitting quietly on a dock might actually be waiting for something important. Two strangers might be meeting for the first time. A goose might be having a surprisingly thoughtful afternoon.

My work is mostly an excuse to build those little worlds.
